Design Objective
Multi-Home Carousel Ad
The objective of this project is to create a compelling social media advertisement for Instagram and Facebook. The ad will target multi-home communities, encouraging them to invest in EV chargers for their residents.
The ad copy I was provided with was too lengthy for an effective social media post, where users' attention spans are limited. For optimal engagement, simple and bold content works best. Instead of asking the copywriter to shorten the text, I proposed an alternative solution: creating a carousel ad that encourages users to stop scrolling and swipe through multiple slides. This format was new to us, but the idea was well-received, and I began designing the layout accordingly.
Challenges
For this project, I aimed to feature a hero image prominently on the first slide of the ad. Hero images are highly effective as they help customers visualize themselves enjoying the product. I opted for a collage-style layout with a solid diagonal black shape that seamlessly transitions into the next page as the viewer swipes.
To capture attention, I chose Blink's yellow for the title and used the same color for the call-to-action button at the bottom. This yellow contrasts well against the black background, ensuring the button is easily clickable on any slide, reducing user friction.
The charger, along with the hero image, is accented with yellow to make it stand out. The text design is intended to be fun and maintain a happy mood. I used color and size to highlight key words for quick readability. The blink logo is placed in the top right corner to create balance and reinforce the brand.

Outcome
After running these ads, the metrics confirmed my expectations for success. Our click-through rate (CTR) significantly increased, and most importantly, our leads more than doubled with this new ad format. In 2024, we continued to run carousel ads consistently and observed an overall increase in both CTR and leads. This format has since become a staple in our advertising strategy.
