The team needed a sleek and eye-catching banner for BOMA 2023, an international conference and expo for property professionals. The design had to be bold and inviting to attract attention while maintaining an elegant, premium aesthetic.

I had never designed an interactive space like this before, so I knew it would be a fun and unique design challenge. Each panel needed to look good individually while contributing to the overall aesthetic of the booth. Ensuring a seamless flow and visual harmony was essential. Additionally, I had to consider the placement of our chargers, mounted TVs, and cabinets within the design. This required careful planning and strategic thinking to maximize functionality and visual appeal.
Challenges
Starting from the top, the design features a cylindrical sky tube hanging from the ceiling, capturing attention and drawing potential clients to the booth. The logo needed prominent display, but SemaConnect’s guidelines prohibited separating the logomark from the logotype. To create interest, I designed a diagonal layered pattern with drop shadows, using the brand's colors, and placed the logo on opposing sides.
For cohesion, I extended this pattern into standalone panels, displaying headlines on one side and the logo on the other. Each panel served as a backdrop for a display charger, allowing product interaction. I kept the design simple to let the product shine, using greyscale lifestyle photography and gradients for legibility of bulleted copy. Finally, I added the logo’s curved silhouette across multiple surfaces including the interior of the arch creating movement and interest.
