Baltimore County Public Schools - GoVax Poster

Design Objective

The team needed a bold, fun poster to promote a county-wide GoVax competition among the 176 schools in the Baltimore County Public School System. This competition encouraged students to get vaccinated to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Process

For the design, I embraced a primary color scheme using the BCPS brand palette. The prizes: a gaming truck and a free Kona Ice visit, were the main attractions, so they became the focal points along with the header. I illustrated snow cones and a gaming controller in the same color palette to draw attention to the poster. To keep a fun lively energy and help visual flow I used textured paint splatters to section off the copy. Each colored section was formatted to lead the eye toward key points. Red, the strongest color in the palette, highlighted the most important "how to win" section and was repeated in the bullets for steps 1-3, describing the instructions. Finally, I added a frame to tie the poster together, including a footer and a space for the BCPS logo.
