Upgrade Postcard
Design Objective
To encourage our current customers to upgrade their chargers at local dealerships to our newer models, we launched a campaign offering discounted upgrade options and decided to mail postcards to promote this campaign.
Process
I used a solid black background on the left side to contrast with the copy and create a sense of quality and sophistication. This area would house the most important information and be easy to digest at a glance. Using color theory, I chose yellow for the headline to grab attention and green for the promotion, symbolizing wealth and abundance.
At the top right, I featured a prominent hero image, which emotionally resonates with potential customers. Cropping this image with a diagonal line creates movement and visual flow. Below this the chargers are displayed with their discounted pricing on a clean white background for clear legibility. As a finishing touch to bring the chargers forward and create depth, I added a drop shadow and intentionally broke the plane of the hero image above.
The back of the postcard maintained the sleek black background and presented the promotion’s details in an easy-to-understand table. The discounted price was highlighted with a green outline to draw attention.
This design strategically utilized color, imagery, and layout to effectively communicate the campaign's message and drive customer upgrades.
